Beginnings

In the summer of 1984, a real treasure, harking back to the 1950s, could be found at the harbor Yan Chen District in the area of Qi Xian Rd. This foreign-flavored bar featured typically Taiwanese style fried snacks, catering to homesick travelers, travelers with a taste for nostalgic, neon signs hung in 'AMY'S' shop window, drinkers of wine, travelers, and sailors with twinkling eyes!
In 1984, Amy and her mother started the first restaurant in Qi Xian Rd. - AMY'S BEER HOUSE.

Kaohsiung people appreciate the food dishes she developed, as the time was ripe with meaning to develop new tastes, full of memories of her mother's personal cooking. Enhancing the characteristics of full feeling and customers' feelings, items such as 'national flags' and 'national banknotes' were often given to Amy’s by traveling sailors to add to the souvenir collection. Beer agents envied the collection of “BaiWeiMaDeng”, or the 1300cc large draft beer handles.

AMY'S Qi Xian Rd Beerhouse became a fashionable landmark in the area along with Amy’s Wu Fu Rd Restaurant (the predecessor of today's Amy’s Taiwanese Cuisine). The same area was chosen, to intensify the integrity of the AMY'S BEER HOUSE popularity. They were the favorite of local white-collar workers, who became infatuated with the Taiwanese style stir-fried dishes and drinks which were the best choices around.

AMY'S development in the area became an important harbor gourmet dining location, with its own pioneering brand in the food and beverage industry. Whether you talk about how AMY'S introduced a gourmet concept of the global village, created a wave of international standard cuisine, first offered a menu in three languages, or fostered the reception of foreign customers with service personnel who have such ability; without a doubt, AMY'S casual dining business has vitality and new vision!
